Children with Disabilities in Israel: The Need for Support
A recent survey by the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) estimates that 326,000 children in Israel have disabilities, with 65,000 requiring severe special care. Despite legal entitlements, in 2012 only 15% of these children received disability allowances.
While the government is responsible for providing essential therapies, families often face long delays or lack of access. The Malki Foundation fills this gap—offering practical support that enables children to remain at home and be part of their community.
Our Commitment to All Families
Keren Malki supports children with severe disabilities across Israel, regardless of race, religion, gender, or economic background. We provide paramedical therapies, mobility resources, and home-care equipment loans to children up to age 19 who live at home.
Recognizing the power of early intervention, we prioritize therapy for children under age five, ensuring they receive the care they need today—so they require less support tomorrow.
“Caring for a child with special needs is one of life’s toughest challenges. These families are isolated and often alone — supporting them is how we honor our daughter’s memory.“
Arnold Roth, Founder, Keren Malki
